As you might have noticed I have a big interest for web technology and the web in general. I would go to the length of saying that this is my main focus area.
I have been involved with the web since 1999. My first student job basically consisted of copying content from word documents into Frontpage. I learned HTML that way - by examining which tags was generated when I pasted into the WYSIWYG editor of Frontpage.
Naturally it quickly escalated and I did a lot of web pages for myself, family and friends. This is more than ten years ago, and even though I am not (and never will be) a programmer I consider myself being extremely savvy on the topic Web Technology.
My interest made me know backend and frontend backwards even before I started my education at The Danish School of Media and Journalism. Here I had the possibility to dive into topics like fonts and color management for the web.
Through my positions at Saxo Bank and Kontrapunkt Online I've also had the pleasure of managing various web projects.
One of the key subjects presented to us students at The Danish School of Media and Journalism are the different aspects of print production.
Due to my long engagement with Ventus Publishing as a Media Designer I've been involved in numerous tasks where the outcome was print-related. E.g. dictionaries and school books. The dictionaries were created in InDesign with an XML-file as the content base.
Being self-taught on this field of course made room for improvement. Through the courses offered at my school I've extended my knowledge base to include topics like PDF-technology and PreFlighting.
I consider myself being very well-educated in the various print processes. If I don't have an answer, I'll find one!
One could argue that color management also is a part of printing processes. I would have to agree. Color management however is such a large topic that it needed a page for it self.
I've been schooled in how to calibrate and develop an ICC-profile to a printing unit in order to be able to simulate output from e.g. a large printing machine.
A lot of the education evolved around the ISO 12647 standard. My knowledge on this topic is therefore rather extensive.
My background as a web developer made it interesting for me to examine how color management is a reality on the Internet. Read my articles on that topic.
I know a guy who knows a guy and he happens to know a guy who can help you with that.
The above is actually true. In the last few years I've been so lucky to experience that my network has grown. I guess it is natural considering the fact that I've worked a few places these last years while studying.
Anyway - If you need a skilled programmer, an illustrator, an information architect, a designer or even a <insert random> - Don't hesitate to contact me. I will do what ever I can to help you.
I became aware of my preference for working with project management when I was studying at Aalborg University. It was very often me who went up to the board in order to update project status etc. I really liked it!
This was also the main reason for my change of studies and thus why I began at the Danish School of Media and Journalism studying Media Production and Management.
After just 6 months as a student assistant in Saxo Bank, I was put in charge of the technical implementation of a product roll-out on all Saxo Banks' partner platforms. An important task which included being the point of reference for several other student assistants. My task was, beside managing the project to identify an optimal workflow and communicate this to the other student assistants.
The roll-out was conducted in regional sprints and at all time I made sure there was an updated visual board. This was a very useful tool when communicating progress with the other stakeholders in the project.
At Kontrapunkt I was responsible for the technical implementation of all new websites for the Kontrapunkt Group. I was combining inhouse graphical resources with technical skills from our supplier in Latvia.
My web experience combined with my education and sense of overview have made me a skilled project manager. I am very aware of technical limitations and have a good basis for estimating time and resources for projects.
Beyond my professional life I enjoy to keep myself occupied with cooking. I have a blog (in danish), where I share thoughts, images and recipes. I also really enjoy tasting (while drinking) wine. One of the best things I know is to dine at and fully experience finer restaurants.
Music is also a big part of my life. I've been DJing more or less since 2002. I like to play funk, jazz, nu-pop and deep house together with my friend as MRF and alone I usually prefer to spin deep house and tech house.
I like to run, to bike and even to flex my muscles (or the lack thereof) in the gym.
